This work originated out a need to learn vocabulary in sign language, but not having the proximity to classes in person. The artist learned about the barriers to deaf and hearing people’s ability to learn sign language, which ultimately connects to further disconnect between the Deaf and hearing communities. Each word released as a limited edition over time will reflect a significance to the artist’s life.
